A Shakey's Birthday Treat for Mom

Mom celebrated her 55th birthday last week. As a simple birthday gift, I decided to treat her to lunch together with some of my younger siblings before watching the comedy film, Praybeyt Benjamin. Mom ordered a healthy Tuna Caesar Salad and we chose to start with my favorite Cream of Mushroom Soup and a basket of Mojos. We also opted to try some pizza flavors we haven't tasted before and stayed away from pasta and chicken since we'll be having pasta and chicken for dinner.

We chose the Hi Protein Supreme and Pizza Bianca. The former was a little spicy while the latter became an instant favorite. True to its description, Pizza Bianca is not your average pizza, the creamy white sauce added a thick smoother texture, pefect against it's thin crust. It was truly a delight.

The waiter offered us the Shakey's Pizzanatic SuperCard for Php299. It's like Pizza Hut's Palm Card with the free pizza benefit, only the SuperCard is an upgraded loyalty card which has a lot more benefits compared to the Palm Card. The new Shakey’s Pizzanatic SuperCard also act as a discount card that gives 10% discount on cash or credit card purchases, for non-promo items eaten at any Shakey’s restaurant. They're also into reward points. For every 100-peso for dine-in and carry out transactions, one earns 1 point which can be accumulated and used as cash in any Shakey’s restaurant. 

We also got another sweet treat because we dined in exactly on mom's birthday and they gave us a FREE Large Pepperoni Thin Crust Pizza (which is also part of the SuperCard's benefit) that we claimed for take out since we're all feeling full. And oh, they also gave mom a birthday balloon, sweet! I think I'm gonna be using my new Shakey's SuperCard more often.

I can't remember how many Pizza Hut Palm Cards I've had. For a big family like ours who enjoys pizza very much, having a palm card is a steal! It just makes our pizza bonding much more affordable because of the free pizza we get!

Shakey's Monster Meal Graduation Dinner

Last March, two of my siblings graduated from Highschool. It was a great day for all of us, yey no more highschool student!!! After the graduation ceremony, we headed straight home and waited eagerly for Shakey's Monster meal I ordered 5 hours ago (I requested for a 7pm delivery). We were delighted to see the huge servings but was too disappointed when I found out the deliveryman didn't know about my mode of payment so he didn't bring that swipe machine. Well that's bad, I certainly did my part, noting online and thru phone about my preferred payment. I talked to their customer service beforehand and confirmed that I will be paying thru credit card- a disappointing service right there.  And so I paid cash...

The meal was really good, it certainly satisfied 10 hungry stomachs and the graduates were happy as all food served right before us were what most people would think about comfort food. It certainly was  the most delish monster so far. I just hope the credit card issue won't happen again.

Italian Dinner: Amici on Pizza, Pasta and Gelato

Amici is an Italian restaurant best for those who are craving for good quality pizza, pasta and gelato. Scouting for a resto serving Italian dishes, my friend MC and I decided to take our dinner at Amici. That was actually our first time to try their food and we loved it!

Linguine al Prosciutto e Tartufo

Being a pasta lover that I am, I tried their newest offering called Linguine al Prosciutto e Tartufo, a flavorful combination of prosciutto, truffle oil, porcini and shitake mushroom priced at P240. The smell was heaven and so was the dish! That was the first time I have actually tasted prosciutto (Italian word for ham) and I've been hearing it a thousand times from Giada's "Everyday Italian" show, kind of taste just like bacon but in subtle way. I can eat the whole plate but since we still ordered some pizza, I shared the serving with my friend.

Other pasta servings include all time favorite spaghetti meat sauce, lasagna, carbonara, puttanesca, pesto and other tomato, cream and olive oil based pastas with price ranging from P175 to P260. 

Capricciosa

We chose Capricciosa, priced at P280 with a combination of cooked ham, italian sausage and black olives. It's 8 slices of pizza good for 4 people. Pizza price ranges from P280 to P320.

The pasta and pizza we ate were satisfying. My friend Ava who was able to join us just few minutes after we've finished started telling us how delicious their gelato are. And so she ordered mocha while MC and I  tried on the Pistachio.

Other Gelato dessert flavor includes sans rival, strawberry supreme, cioccolato, mango jubilee, straciatella, mint with chocolate and espresso.

Buffalo Chicken and Onion Rings Pizza from Greenwich

While the serving was good, I wasn't really happy with it. It's one pizza I would not order again, uhm sorry Greenwich. Your lasagna is good though, it has always been my favorite!
